"FREEFALL" Lamont Pierre Director, Writer, Cinematographer, Editor
New York-based indie filmmaker Lamont Pierre’s passion for movie making began while attending Florida State University where he majored in English-Creative Writing and Political Science. Recognizing the lack of programming produced for college-aged students he created the award-winning “My Brother’s Keeper,” a socially conscious web drama series that follows twentysomethings in Los Angeles, NYC and Atlanta making impacts in their communities and personal lives.
Pierre went on to produce the short films “Where the Streets Have No Names” (2009); “Plateus” (2010); and “Tequila Sunrise”(2010) which starred Kairon John (Noah’s Arc). In the Fall of 2008 he assisted Producer/Director Lee Daniels on the Oscar-nominated film Precious. He is currently gearing up for the DVD release of his feature film debut Talking With the Taxman About Poetry which world premiered at the 2013 Pan African Film Festival and OUTFEST Fusion Film Festival in Los Angeles. The film stars Kareem Ferguson (DL Chronicles), R&B Singer/Actor Steph Jones and Vanessa Simmons (MTV’s Run’s House, Dysfuctional Friends).
Lamont Pierré is currently writing for season one of his new web series “The Trouble With Going Somewhere” and in pre-production on his next two feature films, The Execution of Nigel Harris and The Night Reign Fell to New Orleans.
